Capstone Round up

Im so glad that capstone is finally over. Overall I feel like the actual capstone day went by very fast. In the end it wasnt even that big of a deal. We all stressed out way more than we actually needed to. Presentation day was very hectic because everything was so unorganized. A lot of us didn't have tables and the judges couldn't find us. Next year they should maybe a little more prepared and not scare the students as much.

Capstone Presentation

Last week I presented my capstone project. I think it went very well. I thought I wasn't prepared but when the judge came over to the table I was ready. I talked about what I was doing and why. He asked a few questions and I answered them. I was just glad that it was over and that we could all stop stressing  about it. But there were a few problems with the tables and how some people didnt have tables or their judges couldnt find them. In the end i feel that everything worked out after everyone got settled.

Capstone Final Projects

I used many multimedia aspects in creating these projects  for my capstone presentation. I feel that extra videos and websites really enhance your presentation and provide the audience with different things to look at as well as keeping their attention.

Capstone Documentary

In order to create my documentary I used prezi again because I find it to be a very creative and easy to use program to create presentations with. I basically highlighted my topic and discussed the problem and provided solutions. Below is the link to my documentary on youtube.

Presentation Proposal

The topic of my project as you all know is health literacy. Many patients don't really understand what the doctor or nurse has explained to them. This leads to many problems and accidents. For my official presentation I want to put brochures or flyers on the table that will pretty much outline what my project is basically about. I also want to have some large photographs that will grab peoples attention. I feel that little things can really spruce up your project. I'm pretty much done with my website and poster. I just need to add a few things into my website which I will do later this week. So basically I just need to print my poster and create my flyer/brochure.

Capstone PSA

I created my PSA using Prezi. I found this software to be quite creative because you can do many different things with it. You can show different points of views and format it in cool ways. Basically what I did was put my main points and possible solutions about Health Literacy. The screen moves from point to point making it a live presentation.

This PSA I thought is very informative because it not only addresses the problem but also shows you a way to solve it. I felt that the video and audio were appropriate for this topic. It shows a kid being bullied while others around him are encouraging it. Then it shows a few kids coming to help the kid that is being bullied. It presented the message very clearly. Overall I thought this PSA presented the problem in an effective way.

I also really liked this PSA in terms of effectiveness because it gave you an example of the problem and how you can be affected by it. It basically gave you a warning of possible outcomes of posting pictures of yourself online.
